Here’s my summary of Audio Lunchbox. This is a really cool place where you can buy some good indie music.
Summary:
Audio Lunchbox allows indie artists to post their DRM free music for purchase. A subscription service is accompanied by an a-la-cart purchasing option. The subscription fee gives more bang for the buck because more credits are given per dollar than in the a-la-carte option. Furthermore, subscribers get free credits when they sign up.
Pros:
- Pretty easy to understand the different options to buy music
- Can buy songs a-la-carte without buying credits
- Get 50 free credits for signing up to subscription
- Easy to understand charts on side of homepage
- Weekly editor’s picks and staff favorites on the homepage
- Album loops when you’re listening to the 30 second clips
- Audio Lunchbox giftcards
- DRM free songs
- Not cluttered with ads
- Navigation is constant
- Header and sidebar are always the same
Cons:
- Can only listen to 30 seconds of a song before purchase
- When you click on one of the songs from the charts, it goes to play the first song on the album instead of playing that song
- When looking at an album, you must use player to play a song and can’t click on a song to play it
- Can’t sort columns in the search
- Hard to search all music
- Try and highlight too many albums and artists on homepage
